Porter the Hoarder is an interactive reading adventure, part ‘Look-and-Find’ and part ‘Read-with-Me.’ Porter the Hoarder makes for great times for the Littles (kiddos aged 3-10) and Bigs (parents, grandparents, and siblings) alike.
The first in a series of books, Porter the Hoarder and the Ransacked Room follows the ups and downs of a snappy little girl named Porter as she has to clean piles of junk from her room. Readers locate Porter’s “collections,” including snotty handkerchiefs, remote-controlled helicopters, manic monkeys, moldy sandwiches, and lightning-fried lizards, and then help her decide what should stay and what should go. She has many, many, opinions on this and is quick to make them known!
Mission
The Porter Project’s mission is to create connections through literacy and engagement. The Porter the Hoarder series joins Bigs with Littles, connects schools to families, and organizations to their communities in a way that engages, educates, and excites!

Outcomes
Did your child
ask you to read
Porter with them?
They love the book!
They were super engaged
in the live reading event and so
excited about getting to take the book home!
Did your child
read Porter more
than once?
Would you like
schools to continue
the Porter Project?
Super cute book! Causes engagement and breaks up the reading by finding the objects. She is also learning to read with emotion, and this book has a lot of emotion!
